This time the X-MEN face their most powerful enemy: one of their own members, Jean Gray (Sophie Turner). During a rescue mission in space, Jean almost died to be reached by a mysterious cosmic force. When he returns home, this force has not only made it infinitely more powerful, it is also now more unstable. While struggling with the entity that dwells within him, Jean unleashes his powers in ways that he can not control or comprehend.

Jean will fall into a spiral out of control hurting those she loves most, beginning to destroy the bonds that hold the X-Men together. While their family is falling apart, they must find a way to unite, not only to save Jean's soul, but also to save the planet from aliens who want to transform this force into a weapon and conquer the galaxy.

Simon Kingber, scriptwriter of X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and X-Men: Days of the future past (2014), is in charge of directing this film that represents a new step within the mutant franchise.
